€30 Million Support for SMEs and Researchers in Biomedical Innovation

May 17, 2024

Minister Micky Adriaansens

SMEs and researchers will receive €30 million in support to collaborate on innovations through the Subsidy Scheme for Regenerative Medicine Research Projects (SRGO). The total SRGO budget is available in three phases, with the first open for applications from July 1 to December 2, 2024. Funding is provided by the Ministries of EZK and Health, Welfare, and Sport (VWS), and managed by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), in close cooperation with Regmed XB.

Minister Micky Adriaansens (EZK) stated: “We are taking another step forward in the biomedical sector! This investment supports SMEs and researchers working together on groundbreaking treatments in regenerative medicine.

The SRGO scheme strengthens the collaboration between science and industry, bridging the gap between research and practical applications. Special attention is given to projects that improve organ donation and transplantation, which can be vital for patients. These initiatives place the Netherlands at the forefront of the Life Sciences & Health sector!”

The new SRGO scheme supports SMEs working on clinical and commercial applications, who often lack funds for fundamental or applied research into specific mechanisms or new applications of promising biomedical technology.
