Introducing: Moniek Schmitz

Moniek Schmitz has joined Smart BioMaterials Consortium as lab manager. She has a PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering, in the field of biomaterials, from Technische Universiteit Eindhoven. In her thesis, she developed supramolecular coatings to improve cell-biomaterial interactions and to prevent biomaterial associated infections. Her work was performed in close collaboration with Amsterdam UMC. At SBMC Moniek will be in charge of the development facility. She wil be working together with our consortium partners on development and industrialization of biomaterials for regenerative medicine applications.
