What an unforgettable day! The official opening of Cureon, the brand-new innovation center for medical technology and biomaterials at the High Tech Campus Eindhoven, marked a new chapter for the future of healthcare innovation in Brainport.
The name was revealed by the founding partners in the presence of Martijn van Gruijthuijsen, Deputy of the Province of North Brabant, and many others who share one mission: to accelerate the journey from promising ideas to real-world medical solutions.
As Deputy van Gruijthuijsen emphasized, Brabant’s mission-driven innovation policy is all about turning vision into impact, supporting promising industries like MedTech and BioTech so that groundbreaking solutions can reach the market faster.
Martijn van Gruijthuijsen: “We’re proud that SBMC is based here and we hope CUREON will grow into a thriving cluster, just like photonics and AI have in our region.”
Cureon is a true cross-over between MedTech and BioTech, bringing together pioneers who turn science into tangible health innovations. Partners such as Brainport Development, SBMC, and High Tech Campus Eindhoven are connecting the dots between startups, scale-ups, and researchers, each contributing unique expertise and energy to build something greater together.
During the event, guests were invited to explore the four brand-new cleanrooms operated by SBMC (Smart BioMaterials Consortium). These state-of-the-art facilities are designed to help companies produce biomaterial-based medical products under clean, controlled conditions, especially vital for startups preparing for clinical trials.
Companies without their own cleanroom can now focus on developing their product while relying on SBMC’s infrastructure and expertise.
Cureon is more than a building — it’s a community of innovators working side by side to push healthcare forward.
Let’s keep the energy ON.
