From 13–15 March 2026, the Biomaterials Hackathon 2026 will take place at the Cureon building on the High Tech Campus in Brainport. The event brings together an international group of participants from medical institutes, universities and innovation organisations from across Europe. This year marks the second edition of the Hackathon, designed to stimulate cross-border collaboration at the intersection of science, healthcare and entrepreneurship.
During the intensive 48-hour programme, multidisciplinary teams work on real-life challenges in regenerative medicine and advanced biomaterials. Concepts range from personalised implants and tissue-regeneration technologies to innovative drug-delivery systems and smart medical materials. Supported by mentors from leading research institutes and industry partners, participants refine their ideas toward proof-of-concepts with clear clinical relevance and commercial potential.
Beyond the hackathon weekend, the event connects participants directly with Brainport’s growing regenerative medicine ecosystem, offering access to expert networks, entrepreneurial support and shared research and cleanroom facilities, creating opportunities to further develop promising ideas into real-world innovations.
