On 1 October 2025, the new MedTech & BioTech Innovation Center will officially open at High Tech Campus Eindhoven. At the heart of this new facility are the state-of-the-art cleanrooms and laboratories of the Smart Biomaterials Consortium— providing the GMP-compliant pilot production environment that makes the center unique.
Developed by High Tech Campus Eindhoven and SBMC, with support from Brainport Development and the Brabant Development Agency (BOM), the center is designed to accelerate the journey from research to clinical application. By combining shared workspaces, advanced laboratories, and SBMC’s 400 m² of GMP-compliant cleanrooms, it offers innovators the essential infrastructure to move faster from discovery to market.
“Without GMP-compliant cleanrooms, companies cannot prepare their products for clinical use. That’s why our facilities form the backbone of this Innovation Center,” said Jan Rietsema, CEO of SBMC. “For start-ups and scale-ups, access to these cleanrooms, together with our technical and regulatory expertise, can significantly shorten time to market.”
The official opening will take place on 1 October at building HTC 11 on High Tech Campus Eindhoven, with Martijn van Gruijthuijsen, Vice Governor of North Brabant for Economy, Knowledge, and Talent Development, revealing the center’s official name.
