Bridging Innovative Research and Practical Application
Smart BioMaterials Consortium is deeply involved in the exciting field of regenerative medicine, focusing on bringing innovative biomaterials and biodegradable implants from the research lab to real-world applications. Our aim is to support the journey of groundbreaking ideas into practical solutions that can transform patient care.
Our New Pilot Production Facility on the High Tech Campus
We’re in the process of setting up a new pilot production facility at the High Tech Campus, dedicated to overcoming the complex challenges of scaling up production for biomedical applications to meet clinical demands. This facility includes four cleanrooms, operated at GMP-C (ISO6 or ISO7 conditions), covering 400 square meters, alongside a shared quality control lab, office space, and storage areas. SBMC will offer support on cleanroom procedures including gowning, cleaning, and environmental monitoring to allow clients to focus on their clinical manufacturing processes. The facility is designed to make the transition from small-scale experiments to large-scale production smoother and more efficient.
An Inside Look at What’s Coming
With operations expected to start in early 2025, this facility at HTC 11 is gearing up to be a hub of innovation and progress in regenerative medicine. Until then, we’re offering access to SBMC’s development facility at the Eindhoven University of Technology campus, providing a space for clients to continue their valuable work.
